Timeline

2007

  • AOM was established in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal by Lucio Zagari (Augustea, Italy) and Petros Pappas (Oceanbulk, Greece)

2009

  • In June, AOM took delivery of AOM Milena (Dwt 76,600) built at SHIN KASADO DOCKYARD CO., LTD.

  • In August, AOM took delivery of AOM JULIA (Dwt 76,596 ) built at Oshima Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

  • In September, AOM took delivery of AOM Sophie (Dwt 106,498) built at Oshima Shipbuilding Co.

2010

  • In March, AOM took delivery of AOM Elena (Dwt 106,498) built at Oshima Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

  • AOM signs a long term CoA with Interocean Coal Sales (Drummond Coal) continuing Augustea's service to the Alabama based company that started in 2002. The CoA provides for AOM to move 6 million MT of coal a year from Puerto Drummond to Mobile. The newly built Oshima "baby capes" are the vessels designated to serve such business.

2014

  • In June, AOM took delivery of AOM Georgina (Dwt 82,146) built at Tsuneishi Heavy Industry (Cebu)

  • In June, AOM took delivery of AOM Gaia (Dwt 82,009) built at Tsuneishi Heavy Industry (Cebu)

2017

  • On January, AOM took delivery of AOM Bianca ( Dwt 81,791) built at Tsuneishi Heavy Industry (Cebu)

  • Augustea increased its stake in AOM to become the majority shareholder

2018

  • AOM changes its domicile and relocates headquarters to Malta.

2019

  • In April, AOM took delivery of AOM Sveva (Dwt 81,500) built at Imabari, TADOTSU shipyard

  • In September, AOM took delivery of AOM Marta (Dwt 182,646) built at JAPAN MARINE UNITED CORPORATION, TSU shipyard

2020

  • In May,AOM took delivery of AOM Sophie II (Dwt 81,500) built at Sanoyas Shipbuilding, Japan

  • In June, AOM took delivery of AOM Federica (Dwt 81,914) built at JIANGSU YANGZI-MITSUI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD

2021

  • In April, AOM took delivery of AOM Maria Laura (Dwt 82,312) built at JIANGSU YANGZI-MITSUI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD

2023

  • Celebrating 20 years of partnership between Augustea group and Drummond ltd Colombia, shipping a total of 78 million tons of coal to the port of Mobile

2024

  • In September, AOM took delivery of AOM Elena (Dwt 82,550) built at Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Zhoushan), Inc.

2026 (Scheduled)

  • AOM PIERA with DWT abt 82,550 to be delivered by JIANGSU YANGZI-MITSUI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD.

  • AOM ANA MARIA with DWT abt 82,550 to be delivered by JIANGSU YANGZI-MITSUI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD.
